태양과 어둠의 전쟁

태초에 이 세계는 혼돈 속에 있었다. 빛도 없었고 어둠도 없었다. 그저 무형의 에너지가 서로를 잠식하며 끝없는 흐름을 이어갈 뿐이었다. 그리고 그 속에서 이루안이라는 존재가 눈을 떴다.

이루안은 두 개의 신을 창조했다. 솔레온, 빛과 질서를 관장하는 태양의 신. 그리고 녹투스, 어둠과 자유를 상징하는 밤의 신. 이루안은 그들에게 세계를 맡기고 깊은 잠에 들었다. 그러나 시간이 흐르면서 두 신은 서로 다른 이념을 품기 시작했다.

솔레온은 말했다. "세상은 하나의 빛 아래에서 통합되어야 한다. 어둠이 존재하면 필연적으로 혼돈이 따를 것이다."

녹투스는 반박했다. "어둠이 없다면 개개인은 존재할 수 없다. 모든 것이 같은 빛 속에 있다면 차이란 무엇이며, 자유는 어디에 있는가?"

이 둘의 의견 차이는 점점 커졌고, 결국 갈등이 전쟁으로 번졌다. 신들의 전쟁, 천일전쟁이 시작되었다.

솔레온은 그의 신도들에게 빛의 축복을 내려 루미네 왕국을 세우게 하였고, 태양의 기사단을 조직하여 자신을 따르는 인간들을 보호했다. 그들의 도시는 하늘과 맞닿을 듯한 성채와 순백의 벽으로 이루어져 있었으며, 태양의 힘을 이용한 마법이 번성했다.

반면, 녹투스는 밤의 그림자 속에서 노크트라 제국을 형성했다. 그는 어둠 속에서 태어난 자들에게 강력한 힘을 부여하였으며, 그림자를 다루는 마법과 변칙적인 힘을 전파했다. 제국은 낮에는 모습을 감추고 밤이 되면 활동했으며, 그들은 그림자에서 그림자로 이동하는 능력을 가졌다.

전쟁은 천 년 동안 지속되었고, 그 과정에서 수많은 인간과 신들이 희생되었다. 그러던 어느 날, 솔레온과 녹투스는 최후의 결전을 벌였다.

솔레온이 빛의 창을 던졌고, 녹투스는 어둠의 검으로 그것을 막았다. 두 힘이 충돌하자 대륙이 두 개로 갈라졌고, 하늘이 흔들리며 이루안의 잠을 방해했다. 이루안은 깨어나 노했다.

"너희의 전쟁이 이 세계를 멸망으로 이끌고 있다! 이제 나는 너희를 직접 심판할 것이다!"

이루안은 솔레온과 녹투스를 신들의 영역으로 추방하고, 두 존재의 힘을 인간 세계에 봉인하였다. 하지만 봉인이 완벽하지 않아, 솔레온의 빛과 녹투스의 어둠은 인간들에게 계승되었다.

그리하여, 루미네 왕국과 노크트라 제국이 각각 솔레온과 녹투스의 유산을 이어받아 살아남았다. 그리고 칠흑의 서약, 두 신의 마지막 흔적이 남겨졌다. 이 서약은 절대 깨져서는 안 되는 금단의 계약이었지만, 그 서약이 깨어지는 순간, 모든 것은 다시 혼돈에 빠질 운명이었다….

그 운명을 바꿀 자가 바로, 아직 자신이 누구인지도 모르는 카이렌이었다.

 

 The War of Sun and Darkness

 

In the beginning, this world was in chaos. There was no light, nor darkness—only formless energy endlessly consuming itself in an unceasing flow. And from that chaos, an entity called Irhuan opened its eyes.

Irhuan created two gods: Soleon, the god of the sun who governed light and order, and Noctus, the god of the night who embodied darkness and freedom. After entrusting the world to them, Irhuan fell into a deep slumber. However, as time passed, the two gods began to embrace conflicting ideologies.

Soleon declared, “The world must be united under one light. Where darkness exists, chaos inevitably follows.”

Noctus countered, “Without darkness, individuality cannot exist. If everything is bathed in the same light, where is the difference, and where is the freedom?”

Their disagreement grew into conflict, and ultimately, war. Thus began the Thousand-Year War of the Gods.

Soleon blessed his followers with divine radiance, leading to the foundation of the Lumine Kingdom. He formed the Order of the Solar Knights to protect those who worshipped him. Their cities were built with towering citadels that touched the sky, their walls gleaming white, and their civilization flourished through solar magic.

On the other hand, Noctus cultivated his own dominion in the shadows—the Noctra Empire. He granted great power to those born from the darkness, spreading shadow manipulation and unconventional sorcery. The empire remained hidden during the day, emerging only at night, with its people capable of moving unseen, shifting from one shadow to another.

For a thousand years, the war raged on, claiming countless lives—both divine and mortal. Then, at last, Soleon and Noctus faced each other in a final battle.

Soleon hurled a spear of pure light, while Noctus countered with a blade of endless night. As their forces clashed, the continent split in two, and the sky trembled, disturbing Irhuan’s slumber. Enraged, Irhuan awoke.

“Your war is dragging this world into ruin! I shall judge you both myself!”

With divine wrath, Irhuan banished Soleon and Noctus to the realm of the gods and sealed their powers within the mortal world. However, the seal was imperfect—traces of Soleon’s light and Noctus’s darkness remained, passed down through generations of humans.

Thus, the Lumine Kingdom and Noctra Empire inherited the legacies of their fallen gods. And so remained the Dark Oath, the last remnant of the gods’ will—a forbidden pact that must never be broken. If it were, the world would once again descend into chaos…

And the one destined to challenge this fate was a boy who had yet to realize his own identity—Kyren.
